Who is SALT? Where to Watch Salt Online for Free? – Well, Salt used to be a man. A man named Tom Cruise, in fact. When producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura first approached him about the movie, Cruise hesitated because the character was a little too similar to Ethan Hunt. As we all know Cruise played Ethan Hunt in the Mission Impossible film franchise. After trying to alter the character, both the producers and Cruise agreed that the film just will not work with him as the main lead.

In walks Angelina Jolie who had been itching to do a female Jason Bourne type role and maybe turn it into a film franchise. After reworking the script, mainly changing the main character from Edwin Salt to Evelyn Salt, the producers finally found the Salt they were looking for. Principal photography for the movie began on March 2009, five years after the script began making rounds in Hollywood, hoping to get made.

So the question remains: who is Salt? Jolie is Evelyn A. Salt, a CIA  agent who is accused of being a KGB sleeper agent. With her own peers chasing after her, Salt has to prove her innocence and find her missing husband on top of it. Sleeper agents are spies who are sent to specific locations and they wait until they are “activated” to fulfill their mission.

Jolie did most of her stunts and she trained extensively to prepare for the role. On May 29 2009 it was reported that she suffered a mild head injury and shooting was closed down for the day. She was released by the hospital on the same day, however. But seeing her dedication to the role, doesn’t it make you want to watch Salt online free even more? Salt will open in US theaters on July 23^rd and the UK in August 20^th. It will also be featured at Comic-Con on July 22^nd. Leiv Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor also star and Phillip Noyce directs.
